2024 ABCA NCAA Division II All-Region Teams

GREENSBORO, N.C.
– The American Baseball Coaches' Association (ABCA) announced its ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-Region teams on Wednesday and Colorado School of Mines' Luke Folsom was recognized as the Second-Team All-South Central Region utility player.

The announcement marks Folsom's fourth all-region nod of 2024 after grabbing a pair of all-region honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association (NCBWA) and another from the Division II Conference Commissioners' Association (D2CCA). The recent Mines graduate also touts 2024 NCBWA Third-Team All-America distinction. Overall, the coaches' all-South Central Region squads featured 34 players across the first and second teams with the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) accounting for 14 of those selections. Lubbock Christian's Carson Ogilvie earned ABCA South Central Region Position Player of the Year. Rawley Hector of UT Tyler was named ABCA South Central Region Pitcher of the Year. First-team selections are eligible for ABCA All-America status. The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

As stated above, Folsom touts four all-region awards in 2024 alone along with one all-America accolade to date. He was also voted First-Team All-RMAC as a starting pitcher and infielder while earning RMAC All-Tournament status at the end of the season. The Littleton, Colo., native became the first Oredigger since Nate Ollinger to earn multiple First-Team All-RMAC awards in the same season For his career, Folsom is a seven-time all-region player and three-time all-American. In his final season, the Columbine High School graduate started on the mound, at first base, and at designated hitter. As a starting pitcher, Folsom went 6-1 with a .487 ERA in 11 starts. He tossed two complete games including a nine-inning win in the RMAC tournament. Along the way, Folsom totaled 58 strikeouts compared to 16 walks. He anchored a staff that led the entire RMAC with an ERA of 6.52. He ranked #1 among qualifying pitchers in the conference in ERA and opposing batting average. He was also top-10 in the conference in 11 other pitching categories. At the plate in 2024, Folsom batted .365 with 46 runs on 62 hits including 17 doubles and 11 home runs with 52 RBI. Remaining postseason awards include ABCA All-America, D2CCA All-America, CSC Academic All-District and CSC Academic All-America. All postseason awards for the Orediggers will be announced on social media and at www.minesathletics.com.
