COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Kitt Rupar got Colorado School of Mines' last-chance season started on Friday, winning the shot put and finishing second in the discus at the Air Force Twilight Open.
Rupar recorded just one mark in the shot put, a 13.54m second attempt, but that was enough to win the event over a mostly Division-I field. Later in the afternoon, Rupar threw 45.77 on her first attempt at the discus to place second overall. Heading into the day, Rupar stood 21st nationally in the shot put, 20th in the discus, and 35th in the hammer.
The Orediggers will be back in action Saturday at the CSU Pueblo Last Chance starting at 10 a.m.
