NEW ORLEANS - The Colorado School of Mines men moved up two spots to #11 and the women remained at #7 in this week's USTFCCCA National Ratings Index for NCAA Division II track & field.
The Oredigger women remained at #7 for a third straight week coming off their RMAC team championship in late April, while the men returned to #11 where they were two weeks ago. The ranking matches the best-ever for the Mines women outdoors.
Mines added several new or improved national top-20 performances last weekend at CSU Pueblo's Last Chance Meet, including
Alberto Campa and
Brock Drengenberg in the 1,500m,
Noah Kelly in the pole vault, and
Kitt Rupar in the hammer throw.
In this week's Event Squad rankings, which rank programs nationally by event, both the Mines men and women continue to lead the nation in the 10K and pole vault, while the men are third in the 5,000m and fourth in the 1,500m, and the women sit second in the 5K, seventh in the 800m, and seventh in the 1,500m.
Mines concludes postseason qualifying this weekend with groups headed to last chance meets at Azusa Pacific on Thursday through Saturday, and Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.
