Lukas Taggart started play at the 2024 NCAA West/South Central Regional, playing as an individual at University Golf Course.
Through 18 holes, Taggart is tied for 62nd at +4 after carding 75 on Thursday. The sophomore had a tough nine holes out at +4, but recovered well after the turn to come in even par with six pars and a birdie over his final seven holes.
Western New Mexico's Joey Geary leads the field at -6 with UTPB's Sangha Park and Cal State San Bernardino's Chris Wardrup tied for second at -4. WNMU holds the team lead at -7.
Taggart is set to tee off Friday's second round at 12:40 p.m., paired with Western Washington's Matteo Polla and UT Tyler's Gage Burnham.
