Final LEARFIELD Director's Cup Standings

GOLDEN, Colo.
- Colorado School of Mines Athletics has achieved its fifth consecutive top-10 finish in the LEARFIELD Directors' Cup, finishing sixth for the 2023-24 school year in the ranking of overall athletic department performance in NCAA Division II.

Mines scored 315 points in the fall and 317.5 points in the winter, then added top-25 finishes by women's track & field (12th, 64.5 points) and men's track & field (22nd, 51.5 points) this spring to total 748.5, the department's second-highest point total ever.

Mines' sixth-place showing is the program's fifth consecutive and sixth overall top-10 finish in the Cup standings. This year, 251 NCAA Division II members scored points based on their qualifications and performances in national championships. Among Mines' top scoring performances in 2023-24, the men's cross country team and football were the national runners-up, women's cross country took third, and the Orediggers were the only D-II program to qualify seven teams to NCAA winter championships.

The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's national finish in up to 15 sports in NCAA Division II championships. Grand Valley State won the cup with 983 points followed by UIndy (901.25) and West Texas A&M (900.25). Mines topped the RMAC's members, with Colorado Mesa 10th (665) and Adams State 14th (601.75).
