2024 Mines Volleyball Schedule

GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team is less than a month away from its 2024 season opener, which will kick off a campaign featuring 26 total matches including 13 inside Lockridge Arena.

Mines will look to bounce back from a 14-12 (7-7 RMAC) campaign last season with a 2024 slate that features five NCAA tournament teams from last season, three 2023 conference champions, and five opponents who appeared in or received votes the final national rankings of 2023. Overall, the upcoming schedule includes 22 different teams, 14 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches, 13 home contests, and 12 non-conference showdowns. The combined record of Mines' opposition from last season was 330-290 with 12 programs finishing with a winning record including six teams with at least 20 wins.

For the 15th time since 2008, Mines will start the year by hosting the Oredigger Volleyball Classic. The two-day event will run Sept. 6-7 with seven other teams coming to Golden for the two-court invitational. Mines' opener comes against Concord on Friday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. in Lockridge Arena. The Orediggers will play Missouri Western at 6 p.m. that same day before closing out against Gannon and Michigan Tech. Non-conference action for Coach Magalei's squad continues Sept. 12-14 at the Northwest Nazarene Tournament in Nampa, Idaho. There, Mines will face Saint Martin's and Point Loma on Thursday with Biola and Augustana scheduled for Friday and Saturday, respectively.

The Orediggers open RMAC play on the road on Friday, Sept. 20, at Chadron State. They'll also take on Colorado Christian in Lakewood on Saturday, Sept. 21, before returning for their RMAC home opener against Westminster on Friday, Sept. 27 – homecoming weekend. The rest of Mines' home schedule includes Colorado Mesa, MSU Denver (twice), Colorado Christian, South Dakota Mines, Black Hills State, CSU Pueblo, and Adams State. Road contests, including the last six matches of the year, come at New Mexico Highlands, Colorado Christian, Westminster, Regis, UCCS, Fort Lewis, and Western Colorado. October 4-5 (MSU Denver, Colorado Christian) and Oct. 31 and Nov. 1 (Colorado Christian, Westminster) are all part of the RMAC pod schedule and are non-conference contests.

As previously mentioned, five teams on Mines' schedule were selected to the NCAA tournament in 2023. That list includes Gannon (Sept. 7), Point Loma (Sept. 12), Colorado Mesa (Sept. 28), MSU Denver (Oct. 4, Oct. 22), and Regis (Nov. 8). Five of those six matches will be played at Lockridge Arena. Gannon was its conference tournament champion in 2023 as well. MSU Denver won the RMAC title for the regular season and Regis won the 2023 RMAC Volleyball Tournament.
