Mines 2024 Cross Country Schedule
 
GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Men's and Women's Cross Country teams are just one week away from opening their race schedule with both teams eyeing returns to the national podium in 2024.
 
The Oredigger men are coming off a 2023 campaign that featured national silver, a fifth straight NCAA South Central Region title, and a fifth consecutive Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) crown. Mines' women were RMAC and regional runner-up before racing to team bronze at the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. With the successes of 2023 in the past, both teams will look to add more hardware to the trophy case in the Korrell Athletic Center in 2024.
 
Collegiate racing begins for Mines on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Roadrunners Invitational hosted by MSU Denver at Washington Park in South Denver. Two weeks later, on Saturday, Oct. 5, Head Coach Chris Siemers will bring his squads to the Ted Castaneda Classic hosted by Colorado College at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, Colo. The UCCS XC Open on Friday, Oct. 11, also in Colorado Springs, Colo., serves as a counter towards NCAA Division II's minimum number of required races. On Saturday, Oct. 12, the Orediggers' biggest race of the regular season will be run at the Lewis Crossover Invitational in Romeoville, Ill. The crossover event also marks Mines' regular-season finale.
 
The cross country postseason opens on Saturday, Oct. 26, with the 2024 RMAC Cross Country Championships, hosted by New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, N.M., at Gene Torres Golf Course. Mines truly puts its season on the line on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the 2024 NCAA South Central Region Championships back in Denver, Colo., at Washington Park. The stakes in the races for the men and women are qualification for the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships. If the Orediggers finish third, or better, as a team, they will run for a national title on Saturday, Nov. 23, at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course in Sacramento, Calif.
