NEW ORLEANS – Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge was crowned National Athlete of the Week by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) late Monday afternoon after leading the Colorado School of Mines Women's Cross Country team to victory on Saturday at the Roadrunners Invitational in Washington Park.

Ramsey-Rutledge earned the second national weekly award of her career by winning individual gold in the women's 6K race with a time of 20:59.0. Her mark broke the program record and provided the redshirt senior a 28.8-second margin of victory. Ramsey-Rutledge's first-place finish also spearheaded the Orediggers' team title as they tallied 26 points. That total was good enough to knock off a nationally-ranked, DI Colorado squad along with nationally-ranked DII programs in #9 UCCS, #19 Fort Lewis, and #23 Colorado Christian. Ramsey-Rutledge won individual gold at the Roadrunners Invitational in 2022 as well.

The next action for the Oredigger cross country teams will be the Ted Castaneda Classic hosted by Colorado College at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs on Oct. 1. A full preview and any live coverage information will be released the week leading up to the event.
