USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Cross Country National Coaches' Poll
NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) released its second DII cross country national rankings of the regular season on Wednesday with the Oredigger men standing strong at #2 and the women climbing to #7.
The Colorado School of Mines Men's Cross Country team was previously tied for #2 with East Central (Okla.), but broke that tie after winning the Roadrunners Invitational last Saturday. The Colorado School of Mines Women's Cross Country team was the biggest mover in the poll, climbing five spots from #12 to #7 after their dominant victory at the Roadrunners Invitational. Wingate remained #1 on the men's list and Adams State did the same on the women's side. Overall, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference boasted a total of seven ranked men's programs and seven ranked women's teams. Also notable was that five of the seven women's squads were #10 or better.
Mines continues its season on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Ted Castaneda Classic hosted by Colorado College in Colorado Springs. A full preview will be released on Friday at www.minesathletics.com.
