GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Volleyball team has started signing newcomers for the fall of 2025 with Head Coach
Jamie Magalei adding five during the early signing period.
Four incoming freshmen from Texas and one transfer from Italy highlight the newest class of Orediggers.
Adrienne Enriquez,
Tori Garrett,
Cadence McDonald, and
Abbie O'Shay will arrive in Golden, Colo., this fall.
Francesca Nuzzo has already enrolled in classes at Mines this spring after five semesters and three seasons at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo.
"I am thrilled to announce our signing class for the 2025 season," said Coach Magalei. "We have a talented and skilled group that all come from competitive programs. They will add competition into our gym right from the start. From Texas to Italy, this incoming group is ready to compete. And, in addition to excellence on the court, they are all excellent students who will fit in great at our institution. We are looking forward to welcoming them all for the 2025 season."

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played as a defensive specialist and libero at Pearland High School in Texas and Houston Skyline Volleyball club … Earned two varsity letters … Named Second-Team All-District … Selected as Varsity Newcomer of the Year in 2023 … Was a AVCA Phenom Player in 2022 … Earned AVCA Best and Brightest First Team thanks to her work in the classroom … Helped her club team to Tour of Texas Champion status in 2024 … Also guided her club squad to second-place finishes at the 2023 Liberty Qualifier-Music City and the 2024 USA Qualifier … Stacked up numerous academic achievements as well including membership in the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and a role as the National Honor Society historian … Also appeared on the top honor roll three of four years … Plans to major in civil engineering at Mines.
Tori Garrett – 5-10 – Outside Hitter
Double Oak, Texas – Liberty Christian School – Madfrog
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played nearly every position on the court for the volleyball team at Liberty Christian School in Texas … Produced over 200 career blocks, 100 career aces, 930 career kills, and hit .324 as a senior … Was Second-Team All-District after helping her team to the TAPPS 6A State Semifinals … Also voted Liberty Christian Varsity Volleyball Newcomer of the Year … Guided her team to a TAPPS 5A State Championship as a sophomore while earning First-Team All-District and team Offensive Player of the Year honors … Made it back-to-back TAPPS 5A State Championships as a junior … Was named to the TAPPS 5A All-Tournament, First-Team All-District, and TAPPS 5A Second-Team All-State … Finished her prep career with four varsity letters … Played club volleyball for Excel, Skyline, and most recently Madfrog … Helped her team to bronze at nationals … Named Skyline 16 Most Improved Player … Appeared on the JVA Watchlist … Also helped her club finish fifth at 17 USA Nationals, second at Lone Star, and first at Red Rock Rave … Raked in academic accolades as well including more than five honors freshman, sophomore, and junior years … Member of the National Honor Society … Multiple Golden A awards and advance placement classes … Plans to major in mechanical engineering at Mines.

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Played right side and earned four varsity letters at Hebron High School in Nebraska … Senior season saw her hit .287 with 321 kills, 89 digs, 11 assists, and 45 blocks … Named First-Team All-District in 2024 and Second-Team All-District in 2023 … Play club volleyball for Skyline, TAV, and Drive Nation … Two-year member of the National Honor Society and Science National Honor Society … Work in the classroom led to Texas Academic All-District 6-6A as a freshman, sophomore, and junior … Plans to major in chemical engineering at Mines.
Francesca Nuzzo – 5-11 – Outside Hitter
Marino, Italy – Liceo Scientifico Statale Vito Volterra – Northeastern Junior College
NORTHEASTERN JC (2022-24): Redshirted as a true freshman at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colo. … In 2023, appeared in 38 matches and totaled 119 sets on the way to 17 kills, 14 assists, 42 service aces, 228 digs and one block … Final season at NJC resulted in 324 kills, 259 digs, 83 blocks, 47 aces, and 28 assists … Was named Region IX Offensive Player of the Week … Earned player of the game four times … Helped her team finish fifth in the nation in 2023 as well … Member of Phi Theta Kappa … Appeared on the President's List three times … Garnered outstanding student achievement honors for algebra, calculus, and chemistry … Majored in chemical engineering.
HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Prep career in Italy featured multiple regional titles and appearances at the national finals … Won Under 14 regional titles in 2015-16 and 2016-17 … The 2015-16 campaign finished with silver at the Under 14 National Finals (Volleyro CDP) … Took fourth at Under 14 National Finals in 2016-17 as well … Under 16 Provincial champions in 2017-18 followed by a fourth-place finish at Under 16 Regional championships (Volley Club Frascati) … Junior season brought silver at Under 16 Regional championships with Volley Club Frascati … Senior campaign was with Roma Volley Club which finished second at Under 19 Regional championships … Plans to major in quantitative biosciences and engineering at Mines.
Abbie O'Shay – 6-1 – Middle Blocker

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Earned three varsity letters playing in the middle and on the right side for the Katy Jordan High School volleyball team in Texas … Finished her prep career with 702 kills, 126 digs, and 111 blocks … Was Second-Team All-District in 2022 and 2023 … Earned First-Team All-District in 2024 … Added 2024 AVCA All-Region to her resume as well along with three straight appearances on the AVCA Phenom Watch List … Additional on-court accolades included 2022 Prep Volleyball FallStars Honorable Mention, 2022 Warrior Pride Award, and the 2023 Warrior Pride Award … Played club volleyball for Houston Juniors 18 Elite … In the classroom she worked her way to Academic All-District in 2022, 2023, and 2024 … Also earned 2024 Academic All-State Honorable Mention and 2024 AVCA First-Team Best and Brightest … Member of the National Honor Society since 2023 … Plans to major in quantitative biosciences and engineering at Mines.
