Knight, Strongman Sweep RMAC Runner of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS – The Oredigger duo of Paul Knight and Grace Strongman swept the RMAC Runner of the Week awards Wednesday after helping Mines cross country to a pair of team titles at the Lucian Rosa Invite last Saturday in Wisconsin.
 
Knight earned the third RMAC Runner of the Week award of his career and Strongman claimed her first ever. Strongman's nod also follows USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week distinction announced Monday. She collected the honors after winning the women's championship 6K race at the Lucian Rosa Invite over the weekend. She clocked a 20:36.8 and anchored a 1-2-3 finish for Mines' women who upset then-#1 Adams State for team gold. Knight won bronze as an individual in the men's championship 8K after running 24:28.3 – the fastest runner in the RMAC over the weekend. His performance highlighted a narrow team battle which the Orediggers won by seven points over Adams State.
 
The next action for the Oredigger cross country teams will be the FHSU Tiger Open on Oct. 11 in Hays, Kan. full preview and any live coverage information will be released the week leading up to the event.
