The Colorado School of Mines Club Hockey team dominated on the road Saturday night, defeating Colorado College 7–1 at Ed Robson Ice Arena.
Forward Nick Malaniuk led the charge for the Orediggers with a stellar hat trick performance, setting the tone for a night of offensive fireworks. Malaniuk opened the scoring late in the first period to give Mines an early lead before the team erupted in the second with five more goals.
The Orediggers controlled every aspect of the game in the middle frame, with Malaniuk adding two more goals to complete his hat trick. Nathan Cote, Harries Lloyd, and Nick Lombardi each found the back of the net as well, including Lloyd's first career goal in a Mines uniform.
Colorado College tallied their lone goal just 11 seconds into the third period, but the Orediggers responded with solid defense and relentless puck pressure. Ripken Renner sealed the victory with a late shorthanded goal to cap off the commanding 7–1 win.
With the victory, Mines improves their momentum heading into the heart of the season, showcasing depth, discipline, and a potent offense that continues to build confidence across the roster.
