The Colorado School of Mines Men's Club Soccer team battled hard on Sunday afternoon but came up just short, falling 2–1 to Colorado College in a competitive home match at Stermole Track & Field Complex.
Colorado College struck early, capitalizing on a quick counterattack to take the lead midway through the first half. The Tigers doubled their advantage before halftime with a well-placed free kick to make it 2–0 heading into the break.
Mines came out strong in the second half, showing renewed energy and intensity. The Orediggers pulled one back with a well-worked goal to cut the deficit to 2–1 and kept the pressure on for the remainder of the match. Despite several close chances in the final minutes, Mines was unable to find the equalizer.
The Orediggers' resilient second-half performance demonstrated their determination and composure, setting a strong tone as they continue RMCSL conference play.
