Going up against Division I team CSU, Mines fought hard against CSU for every point. Mines scored two points on CSU.
Playing against Colorado College's B team, Mines matched CC score for score in the first half as play went back and forth between the two teams. After half, CC started to pull away and claim the lead, but Mines still scored a point on them.
Going up against regional champion Colorado College's A team, Mines held it's own and fought for every point. Mines came close to scoring a few times, but always forced Colorado College to try multiple times to get a point.
Rookies
Vivian Ficco and
Hallie Kogut made a strong appearance this weekend and improved throughout the weekend. They were a key part of our defense, defending several crucial throws from the other team as well as catching throws on offense that ultimately led to scores on Mines' side.Â
Captains
Hallie Kogut and
Ale Basile led the team incredibly well throughout the weekend, and led in the handler space, moving the disc to open up more opportunities downfield. This was Ale's first time handling for a full tournament, but she did a stellar job and she improved a lot over the course of the day.Â
