SEASIDE, Calif. - Colorado School of Mines raced up the standings in the second round of the Otter Invitational, moving into a tie for fourth place through 35 completed holes at Bayonet GC in southern California.
Darkness left Oredigger leader
Lukas Taggart on course with one hole left to play as the Mines senior is tied for ninth at +3, rising from a morning 76 to sit one-under through 17 in his second round.
Lucas Schulte carded twin rounds of 74 to be tied for 15th at +4, while
Colt Tenpenny bounced back from a first-round 77 to shoot 73 after lunch, rising to T19 at +6.
Liam Allan turned in two rounds of 77 to be T44 at +10, while
Max Lange counted his morning 76 before a tough afternoon 85 left him tied for 78th at +17.
CSU Pueblo's Marius Dosiere leads at -2, a shot ahead of Cal State San Marcos' Aiden Canada. Western Washington has the team lead at +18 but it's a tight race at the top with only seven strokes separating first through seventh, and Mines sits in the middle of that group at +22.
Pending Taggart's final hole, the Orediggers are tied for the lowest second round of any team at +7 along with Cal State San Marcos.
After completing the second round, Tuesday's third round will tee off at 8:30 a.m. PT.

WINDSOR, Colo. - At the Battle at the Dance at RainDance National in Windsor, freshmen
Mitch Stock and
Enzo Martínez lead the Orediggers after two rounds of tackling North America's longest golf course.
With only a single golfer under par through 36 holes (leader Jared Smith of Rocky Mountain College at -1), Stock's rounds of 74 and 75 (+5) have him in fifth place overnight, while Martínez charged up the leaderboard in the afternoon with a 71 - one of only five under-par rounds on the day - after a morning 79 to be tied for sixth at +6.
Alexander Samuelsson is T13 (+9) shooting even-par 72 and an 81, and
Devin Nguyen is next on the leaderboard in a tie for 18th at +11 after rounds of 79 and 76.
Davis Kushner is T29 on rounds of 79 and 81 (+16) and
Charlie Tran is T32 at +18 carding 79 and 83.
Tuesday's final round goes off at 8:30 a.m. MT.
