United Soccer Coaches Top 25
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The sixth in-season Top 25 release by the United Soccer Coaches Tuesday saw the Colorado School of Mines women's soccer maintain a presence in the national spotlight this week as they checked in at #13 in the latest rankings.
The Orediggers posted a weekend sweep of Colorado Christian and MSU Denver following their some of their best defensive work of the season.
Gaby Guerrero scored the go-ahead goal in head coach
Kevin Fickes' 250th career win Friday morning against the Cougars, while Sunday the floodgates opened as Mines flexed their offensive muscle with
Lindsay Jeans,
Annelise Rojo,
Natalie Rouse and
Bella Campos all scoring. Rouse, along with goalie
Allie Lundgren, earned RMAC weekly awards for their efforts last weekend earlier in the day Tuesday.
The top five teams in the poll remained the same this week, but all five seemingly went in a blender and came out in a different place than where they entered. Dallas Baptist graced the poll this week ascending to #1 while Grand Valley state jumped from fourth to second. Minnesota state dropped one spot to third, while North Georgia bumped up one place to fourth. Cal Poly Pomona suffered their first loss of 2025 and dropped to fifth this week.
Around the RMAC, UCCS was back on the rise as they moved up to #10 ahead of their Friday night clash with Mines. Colorado Mesa was also back on the rise, moving up three spots to #20 while Regis dropped out of the rankings this week after debuting at #25 last week.
The Orediggers (7-2-1, 4-1-0) open a four-match homestand this weekend with #10 UCCS Friday night at 6:30 p.m. for Professor Appreciation Night before taking on Western Colorado Sunday at 2:30 p.m. as part of game two of a doubleheader with the men's team. Sunday is also senior day for Mines, as the seven members of this year's class will be honored following the conclusion of play Sunday afternoon.
