Rasco Earns RMAC Offensive Player Of The Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Coming off a weekend in which she was a significant contributor on the offensive side of the ball in a pair of wins over #10 UCCS and Western Colorado, Colorado School of Mines women's soccer senior Afton Rasco has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week presented by Genesee Nutrition.
 
It is the first time Rasco's career in which she has earned weekly honors from the conference as she becomes the third Orediggers this season to earn POTW honors from the RMAC, joining Natalie Rouse and Allie Lundgren. Tuesday's announcement brings the season total of weekly honors for Mines players to four in 2025.
 
Rasco was an instrumental piece for the Orediggers this weekend as they posted a pair of wins over #10 UCCS and Western Colorado by scores of 2-1 and 4-0. Friday night against the 10th-ranked Mountain Lions, Rasco registered an assist on the game-winning goal in the 61st minute as her corner kick was played home by Rouse on a header for her fifth assist of the season. Sunday against the Mountaineers, Rasco helped celebrate her senior day by converting the first regulation penalty kick of her career in the 29th minute before assisting on a goal by Annelise Rojo just 3:06 later in the 32nd minute.
 
For the weekend, the senior out of Boise, Idaho scored once while putting two of her six shots on frame with two assists for four points. Following this weekend, Rasco now has an assist in three straight matches and four of the last five as she's tied for league lead in the RMAC in assists as she continues to have a career season in that metric. This season in 12 matches, she has two goals and six assists for 10 points, marking the third season in her career with 10 or more points.
 
Mines (9-2-1, 6-1-0) is back home for two matches this weekend as they will see of the other RMAC weekly award winners starting Friday when league leader Colorado Mesa comes to Stermole Stadium for a 6 p.m. contest followed by a 1 p.m. clash with Westminster on Sunday.
