The Colorado School of Mines Club Men's Lacrosse team took to the field twice last week, facing tough competition but showing promising signs of growth as the fall season gets underway.

Tuesday, October 14 – vs. Metro State
In their first fall scrimmage of the year, the Orediggers faced Metro State in a fast-paced contest that ended in an 8-3 loss. Despite the final score, Mines demonstrated notable improvement and growing chemistry as the game progressed. The defense anchored the team, limiting high-quality scoring opportunities and keeping the game competitive in the early stages. Several players stood out for their effort and communication, laying a strong foundation for future contests.

Friday, October 17 – vs. University of Denver
Just days later, Mines traveled to take on the University of Denver, falling 11-7 in a spirited matchup. The team built on lessons from Tuesday, with the offense beginning to click and create more sustained pressure. Quick ball movement and strategic plays led to several exciting scoring opportunities, and the Orediggers showed resilience despite facing a strong opponent. The team's overall improvement from the first scrimmage was evident, giving fans plenty of reason for optimism as the season progresses.

While the week ended in losses, Mines' players continue to develop chemistry and sharpen their skills, setting the stage for a promising fall campaign. Coaches highlighted the team's hard work, energy, and commitment to growth, noting that the future looks bright for the Orediggers.
