Mines Men’s Rugby Keeps Momentum Rolling with Friendly Win Over UNC

After the University of Northern Colorado officially forfeited Saturday's conference match, the Orediggers still took the field in Golden for a spirited friendly matchup. Despite no official score being recorded, Mines dominated play throughout, earning an estimated 55–35 victory in a high-energy showing that showcased the team's depth and chemistry.

With sportsmanship at the forefront, Mines lent players to UNC to help them field a full side and a few substitutes—ensuring everyone got valuable minutes ahead of postseason play. Even with split rosters, the Orediggers' attacking rhythm and defensive structure stood out, continuing the strong form they've carried all fall.

Head Coach and captains emphasized that the match was less about the score and more about sharpening execution and giving every player experience before the playoffs.
