The Mines Men's Club Soccer team battled through a challenging Homecoming weekend, facing strong opponents and tough conditions to earn a tie against Colorado State University before a convincing win over the University of Wyoming.
Saturday, 10/4 vs. CSU – 1-1 Tie
Fighting against monster gusts of wind in Golden, Mines struggled early, conceding a goal to CSU. However, Tom Clemons found the back of the net to level the match. Despite the difficult conditions, Mines held strong for the remainder of the game, securing a 1-1 tie.
Sunday, 10/5 vs. Wyoming – 5-2 Win
Mines returned to action the next day with renewed energy against the University of Wyoming. After going into halftime tied 1-1, the team caught fire in the second half, scoring four unanswered goals to claim a 5-2 victory. The balanced attack and strong defensive effort helped Mines pull away and secure the win.
The weekend showcased Mines' resilience and ability to adapt to both harsh conditions and competitive opponents, giving the team momentum as they head into the next stretch of their season.
