Final Results
LAKEWOOD, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines claimed four of the top five spots in a strong finish to the Bob Writz Individual at Bear Creek on Monday.
Battling cold conditions and overnight rain, seven Orediggers finished in the top 10 led by
Lukas Taggart's runner-up performance, while
Max Lange was third,
Colt Tenpenny fourth, and
Liam Allan fifth.
Taggart held onto his second-place status with an even-par 72 to close, keeping him at -3 for the tournament to trail only winner Michael Fang of Colorado by a stroke. Lange shot 74 to end at even par and third place, while Tenpenny rose to fourth place at +1 on a final-round 72 and Allan shot the same score to end up fifth at +2.
Oredigger freshmen impressed, as well, as Enzo Martínez shot a 73 to finish tied for sixth in his collegiate debut at +3.
Davis Kushner was the day's biggest leaderboard mover, posting Monday's only under-par round at 71 to rise to eighth at +5, and
Giacomo Gaggero tied for ninth (+7) with a 76.
Mitch Stock and
Lucas Schulte tied for 15th at +9 as Stock carded 82 and Schulte 75, and
Carter Lolli was T18 at +11 with
Alexander Samuelsson a stroke back to finish T21.
Eric Casademont Vinyoles and
Devin Nguyen were +14 to tie for 24th, and
Zach Shallat and
Charlie Tran ended tied at 28th at +19.
No team scoring was kept at the event, which had golfers from Mines, Colorado, Colorado Mesa, Colorado Christian, and CSU Pueblo participating.
Mines will close the fall season with two tournaments on Oct. 13-14, heading to the Otter Invitational in California while the developmental squad takes part in the Battle at the Dance tournament at RainDance National in Windsor, Colo.
