The Mines volleyball teams delivered strong performances at this weekend's tournament, with Mines White powering through to win the championship and Mines Blue earning a spot in the competitive Gold Bracket.
Mines White had an impressive run, going 5–1 overall. After a tough opening loss to CSU A (19–25, 21–25), the team bounced back with dominant wins against CU Gold (25–19, 25–15), CSU Pueblo (25–14, 25–16), and Mesa (21–21*). They continued their streak by edging out CSU A in a close rematch (25–22) and defeating CU Boulder Black 25–20 in the championship match to seal the title.
Mines Blue also had a standout showing. They started strong with a commanding victory over CU Denver B (25–5, 25–12), followed by a win against DU B (21–13, 21–11) and UNC (21–16). Although they faced setbacks with losses to CSU B (11–21, 19–21) and Boulder Black (17–25), their efforts earned them a well-deserved place in the Gold Bracket, showcasing the depth and competitiveness of the Mines program.
It was a weekend full of growth, grit, and great volleyball, and both Mines teams proved they are contenders to watch this season.
