USTFCCCA NCAA Division II Cross Country National Coaches' Poll

NEW ORLEANS – The Colorado School of Mines men's and women's cross country teams are both ranked #1 in the nation for the first time in program history after Wednesday's release of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association's (USTFCCCA) NCAA DII National Coaches' Polls.

It's the second straight week for Mines' women at #1. Despite not competing last week, the Oredigger men climbed to #1 as well after other results around the country – specifically previous #1 Wingate at the Paul Short Run. Last week marked the first time ever Mines' women topped the poll. Intuitively, that makes this week the first time in history that the Oredigger men and women are simultaneously #1 in all of NCAA Division II.

The men switched spots with Wingate which dropped to #2. Other RMAC teams filling out the men's poll were #3 Adams State, #6 Colorado Christian, #9 Western Colorado, #12 UCCS, and #17 Fort Lewis. The Oredigger women remained ahead of Grand Valley State which rose to #2. Additional conference foes on the list were #4 Adams State, #7 Western Colorado, #8 UCCS, #11 Fort Lewis, #17 CSU Pueblo, #28 Colorado Mesa, and #30 Colorado Christian.

Mines closes its regular season slate on Saturday, Oct. 11, at the FHSU Tiger Open in Hays, Kan. A full preview will be released on Friday at www.minesathletics.com.
