The Colorado School of Mines Men's Club Ice Hockey team is headed to Springfield, Missouri, this weekend to compete in the Route 66 Showcase, a three-day event featuring top programs from across the Midwest.
Mines opens tournament play on Friday, Nov. 14, at 8:00 p.m. CT against host Missouri State University before returning to the ice on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 4:00 p.m. CT to face the University of Arkansas. The Orediggers will close out the weekend on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 10:00 a.m. CT against the University of Nebraska at Omaha, currently ranked No. 4 in ACHA M3.
The Route 66 Invitational presents a valuable opportunity for Mines to compete against high-level opposition and gain experience in tournament play. With three games in three days, the Orediggers will look to find consistency, stay disciplined, and carry momentum into the end of the semester.Â
All games will be played at the Brightspeed Ice Park and can streamed on YouTube at WebSports Radio.Â
