The Colorado School of Mines Women's Club Soccer team wrapped up its 2025 fall season this past weekend at the Regional Tournament in Omaha, showcasing determination, teamwork, and resilience against top collegiate competition.
The Orediggers opened play on Friday, Oct. 31, against Grand Canyon University, jumping out to an early lead after Kelly Gilhooley scored in the opening ten minutes. Mines held strong for most of the match, but Grand Canyon struck twice late to edge out a 2–1 result.
In Saturday's early matchup, Mines faced Missouri State University in freezing conditions and battled through a tough 3–0 loss despite creating several chances in the attacking third. The Orediggers rebounded in their final game of the weekend against Iowa State University, showing tremendous fight to erase a 2–0 deficit and earn a 2–2 draw. Goals from Samantha Parks and Lexie Moore powered the comeback, marking an inspiring close to the season.
The weekend capped off a year defined by steady growth and competitive spirit. Mines' seniors, Samantha Parks, Kelly Gilhooley, Maya Macdonald, and Lexie Moore, leave behind a lasting impact on the program, helping set the standard for future success both on and off the field.
