The Colorado School of Mines Men's Club Ice Hockey team is back at home this Friday, December 5, for an 8:00 p.m. matchup against the United States Air Force Academy at the Apex Ice Arena in Arvada.
This will be the second meeting between the programs this season, and the Orediggers are looking to respond after a tough result earlier in the year. Mines has made noticeable strides since that first matchup, tightening defensive structure, generating more sustained offensive pressure, and finding success in recent home games.
Friday's contest is expected to be fast, physical, and highly competitive — as it always is when Mines and Air Force face off. The Falcons traditionally bring a high-tempo, forecheck-heavy style that forces opponents to make quick decisions. Mines will look to counter with disciplined play in the defensive zone, strong puck movement through the neutral zone, and sustained pressure in the offensive end.
With the Apex Ice Arena crowd behind them and the energy of a Friday night home game, the Orediggers aim to set the tone early, control possession, and take advantage of special teams opportunities. Mines has shown strong growth throughout the fall semester, and this matchup provides a key measuring point heading into the winter portion of their schedule.
Puck drop is at 8:00 p.m. MT at the Apex Ice Arena. Admission is free for students and staff, and fans are encouraged to arrive early to secure seating.
