2025 NFFCC All-Colorado Teams

COLORADO SPRINGS - Five Orediggers have been named to the National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter's year-end All-Colorado team, announced Thursday.

Offensive guard Cade Myer and cornerback Jackson Zimmermann earned First-Team All-NFFCC nods, with running back Max Barnes, offensive guard Ben James, and kicker Preston Kyle taking second-team spots.

All five of Mines' honorees were also named all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference in November. Myer and James led an offensive line that produced the RMAC's #2 rushing offense of 234.8 yards per game and #2 total offense of 450.9 yards per game. Three different Mines running backs had 150-yard games in 2025, while they protected quarterback Joseph Capra with only 18 sacks in 11 games. One of those backs was Barnes, who produced 654 yards and five touchdowns, averaging 109 yards per game on the ground. In six games, Barnes averaged 7.8 yards per carry topped by 201 yards vs. Adams State, 172 against New Mexico Highlands, and 157 with two touchdowns against CSU Pueblo. 

Defensively, Zimmermann made 33 tackles with two interceptions, a forced fumble, and six pass break-ups in 2025, and contributed on special teams with two kick blocks. In his decorated career, Zimmermann compiled 10 picks, 112 tackles, and 24 pass break-ups in 43 games.

Kyle, a semifinalist for the Fred Mitchell Award as the nation's top kicker, was 17-of-23 on field goals and a perfect 44-of-44 on PATs in 2025. Kyle led the RMAC in made field goals and led all conference kickers in scoring (95 points). His long field goal of the season was 56 yards, the longest for an Oredigger since 1997. 

The NFFCC teams recognize Colorado's best from the state's 10 collegiate football programs, regardless of division. The teams are nominated by and voted upon by Colorado's sports information directors.
