Echo-Hawk Unveils 2026 Softball Slate

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines head softball coach Tobin Echo-Hawk has unveiled the 55-game schedule that awaits the Orediggers in 2026. This year's slate features a season-opening trip to Texas against a bevy of first-time opponents and 27 scheduled home contests with a total of 31 games at Joe Coors, Jr. Softball Field this spring.
 
Opening weekend will see Mines head back to Texas to kick off year two of the Echo-Hawk era as they'll compete in the Lone Star DII College Classic in Mansfield. Texas A&M Kingsville and Missouri Southern are first up on January 30 followed by Emporia State and Missouri Western State on January 31. Minnesota State Moorhead and Southern Arkansas await on Sunday February 1 as four of the first six games of the season for the Orediggers will be first-time matchups Non-conference play continues the following weekend at home with a doubleheader against MSU Billings on February 8. The first true road games of the season come the following weekend as Mines heads to MSU Denver February 14 before returning to The Joe Sunday February 15 against Regis for a single game.
 
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play begins February 21-22 at home against UCCS before a trip to Durango against Fort Lewis closes the book on February and starts the month of March the following weekend. An interesting schedule quirk will see the Orediggers play at Joe Coors, Jr. Softball Field five consecutive weeks starting the second weekend of March. Colorado Mesa and MSU Denver come to town March 7-8 and March 14-15 before Mines takes on Colorado Christian March 21-22 as the visiting team on their home field. Due to a scheduling conflict with the CCU baseball team at the shared off-campus venue of Kelly MacGregor All Star Park in Lakewood that same weekend, the Cougars will host the series in Golden.
 
The following weekend the Orediggers to the bottom line of the scoreboard as they host Regis March 28-29 to close the month of March before turning the calendar and welcoming Black Hills State in the lead up to Easter April 3-4. Mines will end the regular season with three of four weekends on the road starting April 11-12 at Chadron State followed by a trip to Alamosa April 18-19 against Adams State. CSU Pueblo comes to The Joe on April 25-26 as the final home opponent of the season before a trip to Las Vegas closes things out at New Mexico Highlands May 1-2.
