GOLDEN, Colo. – The Colorado School of Mines Women's Club Soccer team has concluded a hard-fought 2025 fall season. Facing a schedule packed with top-tier opponents, the Orediggers showed remarkable resilience, finishing with a 3-7-1 regular season record and earning a coveted spot in the Regional Tournament.
Postseason & Accolades
The team's competitive spirit was recognized at the conference level, with standout player Sam Parks earning a Second Team All-Conference nomination for her stellar performance throughout the fall.
At the Regional Tournament in Round Rock, Texas, the Orediggers faced stiff competition. Despite losses to Grand Canyon University (1-2) and Missouri State (0-3), the team ended their campaign with a display of pure grit. Trailing 0-2 to Iowa State in their finale, Mines rallied behind goals from Sam Parks and Lexi Porter to salvage a 2-2 draw.
Season Highlights: Revenge & Resilience
The road to Regionals was paved with key victories and dramatic moments:
-
The "Revenge" Games vs. DU: After a dramatic 1-1 draw against the University of Denver on Sept. 20—salvaged by a Leah buzzer-beater goal—Mines left no doubt in the rematch on Oct. 4. The Orediggers dominated DU in a 4-0 victory, featuring goals from Parks, Kelly Gilhooley, Evelyn Hachmann, and Kaeli Nallathamby.
-
The Clincher: The team secured their Regional berth on Oct. 12 with a clutch 2-1 win over Colorado College, powered by a brace from Sam Parks and assists from Dagen Gerber and Maya MacDonald.
-
Early Success: The team found their footing early in September with a decisive 3-0 shutout over Colorado Mesa, where Parks netted two goals (including a penalty kick) and defender Maddie scored off a corner.
Other notable efforts included a late goal by Kaeli Nallathamby in the season opener against CU Boulder Silver and a goal by Jane against Utah.
Senior Salutes & Support
The semester also served as a celebration of the team's graduating seniors: Lexi Porter, Maya MacDonald, and Kelly Gilhooley. Their leadership was instrumental in navigating a season where the team also dealt with unusual challenges, such as a game against Air Force being canceled at halftime while Mines held a 2-1 lead.
Off the field, the Mines community rallied behind the team, raising $2,285 through the Goldmine campaign to support travel and operations.
Looking Ahead
With a strong core of young talent and the experience of a Regional tournament run under their belts, Mines Women's Club Soccer looks to build on this foundation in the upcoming spring season.
