Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Ahead of their final weekend of regular season competition, the #5/6 Colorado School of Mines men's basketball finds themselves atop the first set of ordered regional rankings released Wednesday by the NCAA.

Last week in the preliminary set of rankings which listed the 10 teams in the South Central region who were under consideration alphabetically, the Orediggers were among the teams included. This week Mines finds themselves #1 in the region followed by a quartet of Lone Star Conference teams in Dallas Baptist, Lubbock Christian, Midwestern State and St. Mary's (TX). DBU and Mines have been the top teams in the region for most of the season in the weekly D2CSC Media Polls.

MSU Denver is sixth in the region followed by Eastern New Mexico and Regis while Angelo State and West Texas A&M, last year's regional host, find themselves on the outside looking in as only the top eight teams make the national tournament.

The Orediggers (23-3, 17-1), who clinched the RMAC championship last Thursday, close the regular season with two road matchups at UCCS Thursday night and CSU Pueblo Saturday evening.
