INDIANAPOLIS - Colorado School of Mines turned in two podium performances on the second day of the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships.

On the lightest day of the three-day schedule for Mines, there was no lack of success as the men's distance medley relay finished fifth, Holden Murphy took sixth in the men's weight throw, and Jennifer Jarnagin was 12th in the women's weight throw in her NCAA debut.

Through six events scored, the Mines men are in fifth place with 15 points and the women stand fourth with 16 points.

After Thursday night's cliffhanger left the men's 5,000m results in limbo, the order of finish was confirmed on Friday and Loic Scomparin received the national runner-up trophy for his performance in the race. Scomparin - who will run the 3,000m on Saturday - earned his 13th career all-America honor, the most by any Oredigger man in program history.

The men's DMR smashed the program record as Brock Drengenberg, Jonah Fallon, Tim Thompson, and Alberto Campa worked up a 9:40.89 time for fifth place. In a race that saw a front pack of four all run under the meet record and winner Pitt State set the D-II record, Campa rallied Mines back from eighth place in his anchor lap, picking off three runners to finish strongly in fifth with a 4:04 1,600 split. Drengenberg ran 2:58.92 over 1,200m, Fallon split 46.91 in the 400m, and Thompson 1:50.94 for 800m. It bested the program record of 9:47.93 set at the 2017 NCAA meet.

Murphy - who was the Division III bronze medalist a year ago for Loras College - repeated his podium performance with his 20.01m best throw to earn sixth place and become the first men's weight throw all-American in program history. Murphy improved through his first three throws, securing a finals spot with a third attempt of 19.72m, then uncorked 20.01m on his fourth throw and 19.89m on his fifth to ensure his spot on the podium.

In the women's weight throw, Jarnagin earned Second-Team All-America with her 12th-place 18.83m, just a shade under her season best. Third out of the first flight, Jarnagin had legal marks of 18.14m and 18.83m to put her on the bubble for finals before ending up 12th overall in her NCAA debut.

Everett Delate cruised into the men's 60m hurdle finals, winning his heat with a 7.92 time to automatically qualify for Saturday. Delate, an all-American a year ago, looks to repeat that feat in 2025. Tim Thompson finished 15th in the 800m prelims running 1:52.94.

The Orediggers wrap up the meet Saturday starting at 12:30 p.m. Eastern.
