INDIANAPOLIS - Colorado School of Mines men's track & field finished on the podium for the first time ever, closing in third place as the women took 11th at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.

In a strong position heading into Saturday, the Mines men added 21 more team points to get to 36 and finish in third place, behind only champion Pitt State (76) and Grant Valley State (61.5) while edging fourth-place Adams State (32). The women finished 11th in a crowded group with 18 points as Pitt State also won that title.

It marks the highest-ever finish for a Mines track & field team; the men were previously sixth at the 2021 indoor and outdoor championships. Their 36 points were a program-best. The women finished in the top 11 for the third straight year, and scored double-digit points for only the fourth time in program history.

The Orediggers added four podium finishers and First-Team All-Americans on Saturday as both Everett Delate and Loic Scomparin finished as the national runners-up in the 60m hurdles and 3,000m, respectively, Hunter Potrykus was fourth in the pole vault, and Claire Kintzley smashed her own program record to get seventh in the triple jump.

Scomparin added to his 5,000m silver from Thursday night with another one in the 3,000m, running 7:48.67 for second place. Scomparin and Adams State's Romain Legendre - the two fastest men in D-II history in the event - ran together the entire way in a very fast final that saw the top seven finishers all come in under the previous meet record. Scomparin alone scored 16 of Mines' 36 team points, which would have put him 12th in the team standings; he is now a 14-time all-American across all three seasons.

Delate earned his second consecutive all-America finish in the 60m hurdles, running 7.82 seconds for the highest indoor nationals finish ever by a Mines hurdler. Delate had to endure a false start in the adjacent lane before getting out cleanly on the second try and surging to the line for second place.

Kintzley was a highlight of the day as she outdid her #14 seed to finish seventh in the women's triple jump. Kintzley had a terrific three jumps in the first flight, recording a series of 11.93m, 12.04m, and then a new program record 12.40m to surpass her previous best of 12.15m. That got her into finals where she stayed on the podium despite fouling all three attempts in going for a big number. Kintzley was already the first women's triple jump nationals qualifier in program history and now becomes Mines' first all-American in the event.

Potrykus had his best performance of the season to finish on the podium, clearing 5.34m to take fourth in the men's pole vault competition. Potrykus cleared five heights in total with only two misses through his first four bars, and got momentum going after taking out 5.14m before 5.24m. He made 5.34m - only a centimeter under his program indoor record - on his first attempt before bowing out at 5.39m. It marks his highest career finish at nationals as he earned his third podium spot.

Kitt Rupar finished 11th in the women's shot put for a Second-Team All-America spot, improving throughout her series to hit a best of 14.44m in the first flight. That put her third in the flight and on the bubble for finals, and she was bumped out in the final round of throws in the second flight. Franklin Rambo made his nationals debut in the men's shot put and finished 18th at 15.39m.

Emily LaMena also made her NCAAs debut and finished 14th in the women's 3,000m, clocking 9:39.62 as she made a move strong up from 16th with about 800m to go.
