PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado School of Mines' throwers opened the 2025 outdoor track & field season Friday, competing at the Dr. Dan Caprioglio Invitational at CSU Pueblo.
Orediggers recorded multiple personal bests in the hammer throw and javelin to start off the two-day meet.
Jennifer Jarnagin led the way with a second-place and NCAA-provisional 55.39m mark in the women's hammer, finishing second overall as the top D-II thrower in the field. It goes down as the #2 performance all-time in the event at Mines. Meanwhile,
Abbi Gillespie finished fifth with her own PR of 52.28m, while
Kitt Rupar threw a 13th-place 45.30m and
Audrey Ott debuted in 23rd at 37.90m.
In the men's hammer throw,
Holden Murphy took fourth (second among D-II throwers) with a 55.92m best, with
Hayden Swim marking 45.83m for 15th.
In the men's javelin,
Kolby Denke improved upon his personal best with a sixth-place 58.18m, which represents the #8 all-time throw in program history as he stays as the #2 individual performer.
Franklin Rambo was right behind him with a strong 54.28m season opener for eighth place.
The meet continues Saturday with track events starting at 8:30 a.m.
