Last week Mines Club Ice Hockey traveled to Saint Louis to compete at the ACHA M3 National Tournament. They arrived on Monday and had one last practice before starting pool play the next day. Starting out strong, Mines maintained a steady lead against #4 seed Oakland but fell to a flurry of goals in the final seven minutes of the third period losing 7-4. The second game of pool play was more successful with Mines coming out on top against #5 seed Colby with a score of 4-3. The final game of pool play and the final game of the season for Mines Club Hockey against Central Maine CC again resulted in a Mines loss with a final score of 5-2. Mines got down early and was unable to climb back.
This was not the outcome that Mines wanted out of their first ever National Tournament appearence but the Orediggers are still proud of where they ended the season.Â
However, the Orediggers season is not over as they are welcoming their Alumni to play one last game this coming Saturday 3/29 at 8:00 PM at the Apex Ice Arena.Â
