EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Majok Deng and
Riley Schroeder took the court in a Colorado School of Mines uniform one final time Friday night at the Ford Center as the duo took part in the 2025 NABC Division II College All-Star Game as part of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship weekend and helped lead the West All-Stars to a 127-118 win.
Deng was one of five in double figures for the West, as he finished the night with a double-double, scoring a game-high 34 points on 13-21 shooting including 8-14 from three while pulling in 13 rebounds to go with an assist and a steal in 27 minutes. Schroeder logged 18 minutes chipped in four points and collected four rebounds and came away with three of the West's 13 steals in the game.
The East led 68-50 at the end of the first half after trailing for the first seven minutes of the game and pushed the lead to 18 late in the opening period. Coming out in the second half, the West got back into contention thanks to 11 consecutive points from Deng as he went 3-3 from three-point range to open the frame before scoring on a layup to make it a 73-66 game with 16:57 to play.
Another three from Deng followed by a layup from Schroeder around the 13-minute mark made it a four-point game at 88-84. Schroeder scored at 10:21 again as part of a frenzied sequence that saw eight lead changes over a two-minute stretch from 11:09 to 9:09 as the East come out ahead 99-98.
Deng was big down the stretch as his three-pointer with 5:11 to play cut it to a one-point game at 109-108 before Concordia St. Paul's Antwan Kimmons hit the go-ahead shot with 4:11 to play to take a 112-11 lead. Deng hauled in four rebounds and dished out an assist down the stretch as the West rallied for the win.
