FHSU Tiger Classic [Live Leaderboard]
Monday-Tuesday - 8:30 a.m. CT - Smoky Hill CC - Hays, Kan.
hosted by Fort Hays State

MINES GOES EAST FOR KANSAS TEST
After a week of playing and practice over spring break in Arizona, Colorado School of Mines heads east to Hays, Kan. for this week's FHSU Tiger Classic. The Orediggers are looking to build on some bright spots at last week's Hot Dirt Desert Classic and The Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate in Arizona.

THE TOURNAMENT
The FHSU Tiger Classic is a 54-hole tournament with the first two rounds on Monday and the final 18 on Tuesday at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays, Kan. It will be a change of scenery for Mines playing against out-of-region competition as the tournament features the entire MIAA plus a number of schools from the NSIC and RMAC rival CSU Pueblo. Live results will be available on Scoreboard. Mines' Monday pairings are with Missouri Western, Arkansas-Fort Smith, and Fort Hays State with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start.

THE FORECAST
This week's weather in Kansas will be a big departure from the sunshine and 90s of last week's Arizona trip; Monday's first two rounds are looking at a high of 55 under mostly cloudy skies, but Tuesday will warm up into the 70s with strong winds increasing to 25 miles per hour in the early afternoon.

THE COURSE
Smoky Hill Country Club will be the shortest track Mines has played this season at only 6,105 yards for its par-70 layout. The course was opened in 1962 and challenges players with tree-lined tee shots and small greens.

LAST TIME OUT
Mines played two tournaments last week in Arizona, finishing tied for sixth at the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout on March 21 and then tied for ninth at The Stack Cougar-Burro Collegiate on March 25. Lucas Schulte led the way in both tournaments with a pair of career-best finishes, coming in T21 at -1 in the Hot Dirt Desert Shootout and then T17 at +3 in The Stack. Colt Tenpenny had finishes of T24/T49, Carter Lolli was 36th/T40, Max Lange T37/T35, and Lukas Taggart T67/T54.

LOOKING AHEAD
Mines closes its regular season April 7-8 at the RJGA Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Ariz., before heading to Nevada for the RMAC Championships starting on April 20.
