Mines Midweek Meet #2 Results
Bryan Clay Invite Live Results

A busy Thursday saw Colorado School of Mines find success across three different meets as they hosted the Mines Midweek Meet #2 in Golden while also competing at two meets in southern California.

A pair of program records went down as Claire Kintzley reset her outdoor triple jump mark in Golden, while Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge set the program 5,000m record in California.

IN GOLDEN
Claire Kintzley broke the program outdoor triple jump record to highlight a solid day of last-chance conference qualifications and tune-up work at the Mines Midweek Meet #2.

Kintzley reset her own outdoor triple jump record with a great series, surpassing her previous best of 11.94m three times - all under legal wind - to end up at 12.09m. Kintzley also had jumps of 12.06m and 11.95m go beyond her previous outdoor record; it was an NCAA-provisional mark for the indoor all-American.

Holden Murphy had a big day in the throws cage winning both the hammer and discus. The reigning RMAC Field Athlete of the Week again improved his hammer PR to win at 61.02m, and he did the same to win the discus with a 51.98m best. Mines swept the top four discus spots as Franklin Rambo was second with a 48.84m mark, Cade Whish threw a huge PR with 46.45m for third, and Keaton Reiman was fourth at 44.77m; decathletes Vaughn Hafner and Nick Stade were ninth and 10th with throws of 36.38m and 33.64m, respectively. In the hammer, Hayden Swim was third (48.38m), Reiman fifth (44.39m), and Kolby Denke seventh (40.31m). Murphy also took one attempt at the javelin for the first time this season and was third (49.83m) with Hafner finishing ninth (40.12m).

Rambo led Mines' shot putters with a second-place 16.82m while Whish tossed a personal-best 14.81m for fourth, Swim 14.36m for fifth, Reiman 13.70m for sixth, and Stade 10.70m for 11th.

Kitt Rupar had a great day in both the shot put and discus to lead Mines' women's throwers. Rupar hit a season-best an NCAA-provisional 14.84m in the shot put to move to #10 on the national performance list, finishing second in the competition. Avery Wright was third at 12.62m with Jennifer Jarnagin's 11.00m seventh and Lisa Sutherland eighth at 10.94m.

Rupar would later win the discus, throwing a new personal-best 49.25m - the #8 national performance - while Audrey Ott was fifth (39.39m) and Abbi Gillespie ninth (21.31m). Ott would add a fourth-place 43.85m performance in the hammer, as well. In the javelin, Wright was fifth (33.70m) and Sutherland eighth (29.90m) as the two heptathletes prep for the RMAC Championships next week.

Dale Thompson cleared a new all-venues personal-best of 4.03m in the pole vault to likely book her return to nationals, making the height on her first attempt. She is the 11th D-II vaulter over four meters this season as she extended her RMAC lead in the event. Taylor Hindman finished fourth at 3.63m, with Arabella Chen over 3.48m for sixth and Madeline Obuchowski over 3.33m for seventh; both Lauren Kidney and Maddie Kelly made the 3.18m bar to tie for eighth.

In the men's pole vault, both Aidan Bennett and Noah Kelly cleared an NCAA-provisional 4.96m as they shared first place with no misses through that height, while Kai Miller's season-best 4.81m was third. Tony Peonio got over 4.51m for fourth and Shane Conley 4.36m for fifth. Jaysen Eaton was the Orediggers' lone high jumper and finished as the women's competition's runner-up clearing 1.53m.

On the track for the Mines men, Jeremiah Vaille led a 1-2-3 finish for Oredigger men in the 5,000m, crossing in 15:04 flat ahead of Andreas O'Malley (15:07.74) and Chandler Wilburn (15:11.66). Elijah Quinby ran a personal-best 48.92 to win the 400m dash, one of five Orediggers in the lineup as Mark Leoni was fourth (50.36), Austin Schmidt fifth (50.46), Waylon Weeks seventh (50.71), and Prince Owusu-Ansah 13th (51.43). Shalom Trowbridge added a win in the 800m, clocking 1:54.49 a spot ahead of Liam Currie in 1:55.05, while Aiden Bram finished seventh in 1:58.33. Tegan Daughters ran 11.00 seconds for fourth in the 100m dash, and Spencer Cedrun ran 23.01 for 12th in the 200m.

For the women on the track, Avary Catchings won the 800m in a windy 2:18.97, and the 1,500m duo of Ella Kenlyand Maria Forster finished 13th (5:12.63) and 20th (5:25.47) also in gusty conditions. Aani Hardesty won the 400m hurdles in 1:02.66, and Maya Evans ran 58.47 for fifth in the 400m dash.

IN CALIFORNIA
Mines continued action at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific University while Alex Shaw ran the steeplechase at the University of La Verne on Thursday.

Running in a loaded race full of top D-I talent at the Bryan Clay, Ramsey-Rutledge recorded 15:48.74, a new Mines record by 10 seconds and the new NCAA Division II #14 all-time performance. Ramsey-Rutledge snapped Zoe Baker's time of 15:58.60 set at the same meet last year to claim the Mines record; it is also the new #2 time in NCAA Division II this season and leads the RMAC this season.

Mines had four men running the 5K on Thursday and all four produced NCAA provisional times. Dawson Gunn led the pack running a personal-best 13:52.11, moving to #7 on the Mines all-time list and likely putting him into the nationals field, while Paul Knight and Logan Bocovich closed the night working together to clock 13:58.70 and 13:58.94, respectively. Daniel Appleford ran 14:05.05 to finish sixth in his heat.

Tim Thompson ran a collegiate-best 1:50.23 in the invite 800m, improving his national standing in the event. Josie Mejia opened up Thursday at the Bryan Clay Invite with a 17:31.02 in the morning 5K heats, a more than half-minute personal-best. Lexi Herr clocked 16:42.92 in a later heat of the 5K.

At the Leopard Invitational at La Verne, Shaw ran a personal-best 8:58.47 to place second overall in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. The time, an NCAA provisional mark, slots in at #8 in D-II so far this season pending other results this weekend.
