KEARNEY, Neb.
- Holden Murphy broke the Colorado School of Mines hammer throw record to lead the Oredigger throwers competing at the Loper Invitational at Nebraska-Kearney on Saturday.

Murphy went over 61 meters for the second time this week, improving on his 61.02m mark from Thursday's Mines Midweek Meet to set the new program record at 61.76m. It surpassed Austin Roup's decade-old standard of 61.46m and moves Murphy to #7 on the national performance list as he extends his RMAC lead. 

Franklin Rambo won the invite men's shot put with a 16.85m mark, with Murphy second at 16.31m. Murphy also placed second in the invite discus with a 50.35m toss as Rambo was seventh hitting 45.66m. 

Kitt Rupar was in two events, finishing second in the invite women's shot put with a 14.42m best mark and coming in fifth at 45.47m. In the invite women's hammer, Jennifer Jarnagin threw 58.06m for second with Abbi Gillespie fourth on a best of 56.09m. 

The Orediggers will next host the RMAC Outdoor Championships starting Friday, April 25 at Stermole Track.
