COLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado School of Mines track & field has earned three RMAC Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards after a superlative weekend to end the month of March.
Everett Delate was named the RMAC Men's Track Athlete of the Week,
Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge earned Women's Track Athlete of the Week, and
Jennifer Jarnagin repeated as the Women's Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Delate reset his Mines program record in the 110m hurdles, running 13.81 seconds under legal wind to win at the Mines Midweek Meet. It is the RMAC #1 and D-II #5 performance of the spring. Delate's time was the RMAC's fastest since 2013. It is his third career RMAC weekly award.
Ramsey-Rutledge broke the RMAC record and ran the #3 10,000m in NCAA Division II history on Saturday at The TEN in California. Ramsey-Rutledge clocked 32:31.16, smashing the Mines record by more than a minute and breaking the previous RMAC best of 32:49 set in 2012. Ramsey-Rutledge collects her fifth career RMAC weekly honor between the three seasons.
It marks the second straight week that Jarnagin has been the RMAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week after she broke the Mines hammer throw program record with a 57.74m throw at the Mines Midweek Meet. Jarnagin improved on her RMAC #1 performance and ranks #6 in NCAA Division II this season with that throw.
Mines has changed its schedule for the weekend with forecasted snow cancelling the meet at Colorado; a selection of Oredigger distance runners will compete at the Stanford Invite and Mike Fanelli Classic in the Bay Area on Friday.
