Mines Club Baseball Surge Past ThunderWolves Thanks To Big First Inning

Mines Club Baseball defeated Thunderwolves 13-2 on Sunday at Rawlings Field thanks in part to seven runs in the first inning. Zach Willms singled, scoring two runs, Declan Ward-newbrough singled, scoring one run, Mark Zendejas singled, scoring one run, Max Cornelius doubled, scoring two runs, and lan Szura singled, scoring one run.

Mines Club Baseball added one run in the second after Zack Thomases singled to left field.

Willms stepped on the hill first for Mines Club Baseball. The hurler gave up three hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking three. Max Bronson threw three innings of scoreless ball for Mines Club Baseball in relief. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out two and walking two.

Mines Club Baseball accumulated 11 hits in the game. Avery Zakson, Skylor Wild, and Thomases each collected two hits for Mines Club Baseball. Willms and Cornelius each drove in two runs for Mines Club Baseball.

Blaine Putzer, David McAlpin, and #6 each collected one hit for Thunderwolves. Putzer went 1-for-2 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.
