2025 RMAC Softball All-Conference Teams
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference teams and major award winners Wednesday morning as three members of the Colorado School of Mines softball team were recognized for their performances in 2025 with
Cassidy Chvatal and
Kendall Aragon earning Second Team All-Conference honors while
Kellan Ton was tabbed as an Honorable Mention selection.
Colorado Christian's two-way standout Elyse McMullin was named Player of the Year while Black Hills State's Laci Peskey and Ashlyn Englehorn were tabbed Pitcher and Coach the Year respectively while Colorado Mesa's Jessalyn Gallegos took home top freshman honors.
For Chvatal, it is her second postseason honor from the RMAC following a Gold Glove selection as a pitcher in 2022 and first All-League laurel while Aragon earns Second Team honors for the second time in as many years with Ton repeating her accolades from 2024.
Chvatal closed her career with one of the best offensive seasons in program history. The senior from Broomfield led all of NCAA Division II in home runs during the regular season and was tied for fifth nationally in runs batted in. She also broke the program records for the most home runs and most RBI in a season and recorded the third-best single-season slugging percentage of all-time. Chvatal started all 54 games at first base and batted .354 with a .460 on-base percentage while slugging .814 behind seven doubles, two triples and 21 home runs while driving in 65 and scoring 43. She also led Mines with 33 walks, a mark which was good for fourth in the league. Defensively, she fielded .984 with 349 putouts and 11 assists with the move from right field to first base. All-time, Chvatal popped 31 home runs with 29 over the last two seasons to plant her in third place in the program record books. She also drove in 99 runs, 92 of which came since the start of 2024 while her 131 total bases this spring are the fifth-most in Mines history.
Aragon, now a three-time All-RMAC selection in her career, posted a career year at the plate as a staple in the third spot in the lineup. The junior started all 54 games this season and posted her first .400 campaign offensively, batting .409 with a .454. on-base percentage and a .580 slugging percentage with 16 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 38 RBI, 43 runs scored 12 stolen bases and 17 walks. Three times this season she had hitting streaks of at least 10 games including a pair of 11 game streaks, one of which is still active. She also remained one of the top defensive outfielders in the RMAC, fielding .961 with 93 putouts and five outfield assists, a new career high. Aragon also remains third all-time at Mines in career batting average with a mark of .396 and is tied for eighth all-time in single-season doubles with Kara Jones (2018), Kaleigh Starr (2009) Jackye Lagen (2007) and Stacie LaRocque (2006).
Ton repeats Honorable Mention status following another outstanding season in 2025 in which she reset her own Mines single-season stolen base record, becoming just the third player in school history to register 50 steals, and finished second in the league in larceny. The sophomore from Sugar Land, Texas batted .328 this spring with three doubles, a pair of triples, 19 RBI and 42 runs scored out of the leadoff spot while going 27-31 on the bases and working 16 walks. Defensively she fielded .947 in left field with 70 put outs and one assist. The speedster capped her sophomore season with 52 stolen bases to make her way all the way second in program history and now has two of just five 20-steal seasons all-time.
