KEARNEY, Neb. and AZUSA, Calif.
- Holden Murphy's program hammer throw record highlighted the last day of the outdoor track & field regular season as Colorado School of Mines got in final qualifying efforts at two meets.

At the Loper Twilight hosted by Nebraska-Kearney, Murphy reset his Mines hammer throw record to further solidify his NCAA spot in the event. Murphy finished second in the invitational hammer with a toss of 61.78m, going over 61 meters twice to improve on his previous best by two centimeters, set on the same field in mid-April. Murphy was also seventh in the invitational shot put throwing 15.68m, and eighth in the invitational discus with a 49.08m best.

Franklin Rambo threw 16.44m for fifth in the invitational shot put, and he was second in the discus throwing 48.02m. Kolby Denke was eighth in the javelin with a best throw of 57.21m.

Already safely into the nationals field in the hammer, Abbi Gillespie and Jennifer Jarnagin worked through the invitational hammer to finish eighth and ninth at 54.90m and 53.72m, respectively. Kitt Rupar threw 45.87m for fifth in the invitational discus with her NCAA spot already secured in that discipline, and hit 52.32m for third in the open hammer throw.

In California at Azusa Pacific's Franson Last Chance meet, competitors had to endure sizzling temperatures over 100 degrees on Saturday as they worked for final qualifying marks.

As the Orediggers' lone field competitor in California, Claire Kintzley had a solid triple jump series going over 12 meters three times, and ended on matching her season-best and outdoor program record of 12.09m for fifth place.

It was a busy day at both hurdle distances for the Orediggers with four competitors in action. A day after resetting his program record and locking down his nationals spot in the 110m hurdles, Everett Delate ran 13.95 in the final to take fifth place. In the 400m hurdles, Elijah Quinby wrapped up his breakout season with a personal-best 52.31 performance, finishing sixth overall; in the women's race, Allison Comer ran the second-fastest time in program history, 1:00.41, for third place, and Aani Hardesty came in 14th at 1:04.59.

The selections for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be announced Tuesday, with the meet in Pueblo beginning May 22.
