Aragon, Chvatal Named To RMAC All-Academic Team

RMAC All-Academic Team & Honor Roll
 
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its First Team All-Academic squad and Honor Roll lists on Tuesday as the Colorado School of Mines softball team was well-represented with 13 total honorees headlined by First Team selections Kendall Aragon and Cassidy Chvatal.
 
Mines was one of three schools with multiple honorees on the 13-player First Team All-Academic list along with Black Hills State and Colorado Christian while their 13 total academic honorees was the most in the conference this spring.
 
Aragon, a RMAC Academic Honor Roll recipient last season, earns First Team All-Academic laurels for the first time. The junior from Thornton graduated last Friday with a Chemical Engineering degree and a 3.89 GPA following a season in which she was named Second Team All-RMAC. Aragon had a career-best season at the plate in 2025 and led the Orediggers in several offensive categories as she posted the first .400 season of her time in Golden. She batted .409/.454/.508 with 16 doubles, four triples, two home runs, 38 RBI and 43 runs scored. Aragon also stole 12 bases and was tied for fourth in the RMAC in doubles and continues to rank third all-time at Mines in career batting average at .396 (203-512) and ranks eighth all-time in career hits.
 
Chvatal, previously a two-time Academic Honor Roll recipient, closes her career with a First Team All-Academic selection. The senior from Broomfield graduated last Friday with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and posted a 3.67 GPA along the way as she recorded one of the single-greatest offensive seasons in Mines history. A Second Team All-RMAC selection this spring, Chvatal led all of NCAA Division II in home runs through the end of the regular season and ranked fifth nationally in runs batted in. She posted a line of .354/.460/.814 and finished second the team in batting average while posting seven doubles, two triples, 21 home runs, 65 RBI and 43 runs scored in addition to a team-leading 33 walks. Chvatal homered against nine of 11 RMAC opponents in 2025 and ended her career ranked third in home runs (31) and slugging percentage (.688) while ranking third in single-season walks and fifth in total bases (131).
 
A further 11 Orediggers were named to the league's Academic Honor Roll including Kat Miller, Allison Westbrook, Taylor Wayne, Kate Whipple, Hannah Roberts, Ellen Shull, Emiaj Self, Kailey Morales, Lexie Semeyn, Kat Bauer and Lauren Romero.
