15 Orediggers Earn All-America Scholar-Athlete Honors From NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) recently announced its list of All-America Scholar-Athletes presented by Easton and saw 15 members of the Colorado School of Mines softball program recognized for their efforts in the classroom during the 2024-25 season, while as a group Mines was honored as one of the top academic teams in the country.
 
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have achieved a 3.5 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale during the course of 2024-25 academic year. Nationally across all levels of collegiate softball, nearly 9,200 student-athletes were honored for their academic achievements including 2,179 from NCAA Division II.
 
RMAC First Team All-Academic selections Kendall Aragon and Cassidy Chvatal led the contingent of Orediggers which also included Kat Bauer, Mia Lopez, Kat Miller, Kailey Morales, Hannah Roberts, Emiaj Self, Lexie Semeyn, Ellen Shull, Kiyana Tsuei, Taylor Wayne, Grace Weiler, Allison Westbrook and Kate Whipple. 12 members of the Mines program repeated academic honors from the NFCA from last spring while as a program, the Orediggers sported a 3.57 GPA and were one of seven programs from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference who submitted nominations for consideration. Among those seven schools, Mines was third among the RMAC behind Brechler Award winner Black Hills State (3.719) and UCCS (3.580) and ahead of MSU Denver (3.540), Colorado Mesa (3.410), Colorado Christian (3.340) and Fort Lewis (3.296).
 
In May of this year, 13 Orediggers earned academic honors from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with Aragon and Chvatal leading the way as First Team All-Academic selections.
