COLORADO SPRINGS - A day after earning the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week award, Colorado School of Mines running back
Landon Walker has also been named Colorado's best with the NFFCC Player of the Week honor.
Walker went over 2,000 career rushing yards with a career-high 199 yards in Mines' 41-27 win over Washburn on Saturday. Carrying 26 times, Walker averaged 7.7 yards per carry and scored twice, including a game-sealing 75-yard touchdown in the third quarter, while compiling 220 total yards. Through two games, Walker is averaging a very healthy 168.5 yards per game and 6.0 yards per carry on an RMAC-most 56 totes.
The National Football Foundation Colorado Chapter honors a player of the week from all 10 of the Centennial State's college football programs, regardless of division. Walker is the first Oredigger this season to earn the award.
Mines remains at home to host Chadron State this Saturday at noon.
