The Colorado School of Mines women's club soccer team faced a tough weekend slate, hosting CU Boulder Gold on Saturday before traveling to Colorado State on Sunday. Despite strong efforts, the Orediggers dropped both contests, falling 3-1 to CU Boulder Gold and 3-0 to CSU.

Saturday's match at Stermole Soccer Stadium was tightly contested from the opening whistle. After CU Boulder struck early, Mines answered with a free kick goal from just outside the 18-yard box to bring the game level at 1-1 heading into halftime. The Orediggers kept the game even well into the second half before CU Boulder managed to pull away late to secure the 3-1 result.

On Sunday, Mines hit the road to face CSU in Fort Collins. Playing on a rough grass surface, the Orediggers created chances but struggled to find rhythm against a disciplined Rams squad. CSU capitalized on their opportunities to earn the 3-0 win.

Though the weekend ended in two defeats, the Orediggers showed grit and composure, especially in their strong showing against CU Boulder Gold. The team looks to build on those positives as they move forward into the heart of their fall schedule.
