COLORADO SPRINGS –
Sofia Baldessari earned RMAC Offensive Player of the Week distinction Monday following another 2-0 week for the Colorado School of Mines women's basketball team.
Baldessari her second weekly award of the season and of her career after averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 steals per game with a pair of double-doubles. She went for 22 points, 10 rebounds, four steals, and two assists as part of Mines' 73-70, comeback victory at CSU Pueblo on Thursday. On Saturday at Colorado Christian, the Englewood, Colo., native poured in 30 points with 14 rebounds and three assists as part of a 77-68, Oredigger win. Her 30 points at CCU are tied for #28 in program history and mark the 32nd time a Mines woman has scored 30 points in a game. Baldessari is just the sixth player in program history to score 30 points or more in multiple games.
So far in the 2025-26 season, Baldessari ranks #4 in the RMAC in scoring average and #3 in the league in rebounds per game. She's also #2 in the conference in three-throw percentage, #9 in field-goal percentage, #13 in three-point field goals per game and #20 in steals per game. The sophomore's 45 points against Nelson on Jan. 2 are the most scored in a single game by any player in all of NCAA Division II women's basketball this season. Her and teammate
Jade Leon have accounted for four of the last six RMAC weekly awards.
