CU Results

BOULDER, Colo. - Record-breaking middle distance performances were the order of the day as Mines competed in the Colorado Invitational at CU.

The men's 4x400 relay broke their RMAC and program records on the same track that they set it on last year, clocking an NCAA-provisional 3:12.33. Liam Currie, Tim Thompson, Logan Meade, and Jonah Fallon - who ran a blistering unofficial anchor split of 46.62 - improved on the previous record of 3:12.66 with the same lineup.

Individually, Thompson ran the fastest at-altitude 800m time in program history, winning against a largely D-I field in 1:49.47. That dropped nearly two seconds off his personal best of 1:51.25 set in December in Golden, and ranks #2 all-time at Mines, joining Patrick Weaver as the only sub-1:50 half-miler in program history; the time keeps him at #3 on the national list with the elevation conversion.

That wasn't the only personal-best 800m time on the track as Imani Fernandez-Gorbea, running in her home town, notched an NCAA-provisional 2:12.62, the new #3 performance in Mines history. Avary Catchings was eighth in 2:20.08, while for the men, Owen Schneider finished seventh in 1:53.11, Currie who was ninth in 1:53.88, and Ty Krafft, who was 11th in 1:55.08.

In the 200m dash, Tegan Daughters ran 22.27 and Jathan Busby was a tick off his personal best at 22.61 as the duo opened their seasons at that distance.
