Weekend Forecast Prompts Softball Schedule Changes

1/27/2026 2:16:00 PM

MANSFIELD, Texas – The remnants of the recent arctic blast that swept the country last weekend have necessitated changes to the opening weekend schedule for the Colorado School of Mines softball team.

Originally slated to play six games this weekend at the Top Gun Lone Star DII College Classic, the Orediggers will now get things underway with five games at the Fields At Station 63 Complex. The opening day schedule on Friday January 31 against Texas A&M Kingsville and #24 Missouri Southern remains unchanged with both games scheduled for 10 a.m. CT and 12:15 p.m. CT. Saturday's slate sees the first change on account of forecast temperatures in the low to mid-30s, with Mines' matchup against Emporia State moving from a 10 a.m. CT start back four hours to 2 p.m. CT, with the second game of the day against Emporia State being canceled. Action on Sunday February 1 sees one adjustment, with the first game of the day against Minnesota State Moorhead now being played at 9 a.m. CT instead of the originally scheduled 11:15 a.m. CT, while the weekend finale against UT Dallas remains as scheduled at 1:30 p.m. CT.

Any additional changes to the weekend schedule will be communicated online at mineathletics.com and through Mines Athletics and Mines Softball social media channels. A full weekend preview will be available later in the week.
