The Colorado School of Mines Men's Ultimate teams kicked off the new year in strong form at the New Year's Fest Tournament in Phoenix, Arizona, delivering an impressive weekend across both squads. The A team went a perfect 4–0 on Saturday, earning wins over notable opponents including Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University. Offensively, junior Spencer Weldon and master's student Quinten Lorenz anchored the unit, consistently breaking down opposing defenses with sharp throws and dynamic athleticism.

Defensively, senior Drew Holloran and sophomore Charlie Keigwin set the tone with relentless pressure and highlight-reel effort. Their athleticism produced multiple layout blocks throughout the weekend, none bigger than Keigwin's game-point layout block against Grand Canyon University, sealing a dramatic win in one of the tournament's most intense matchups. Meanwhile, Mines' B team showcased grit and resilience despite a limited roster, earning a hard-fought victory over the University of Denver's B team. Freshman Hudson Thomas ("Lil' Huddy") led the charge, helping the squad compete fiercely in every game and round out a successful weekend for Mines Ultimate.
